400 prints at 4x6, 230 at 5x7 and 200 at 6x8. The original kit ships two rolls, so a box gives you 800, 460 or 400 prints depending on the format you load. Full capacities and formats are on our DS620 media page.

4x6, 5x7 and 6x8 as standard media formats, plus 2x6 strips cut from a 4x6, 6x9 and the 6x14 and 6x20 panoramics. It is the widest format range of the three printers we fit. Most booths live on DNP 4x6 dye sub media for the DS620A and add a second format later.

Around 8.3 seconds for a 4x6 print and up to 400 prints per hour, which is the figure that matters when there is a queue. Larger formats take proportionally longer.

Yes. DS620A is the reference used in the United States and DP-DS620 the full product code, but it is one printer. Media and drivers are the same, so a listing for either fits the machine you have.

Capacity against formats. The DS-RX1HS gives 700 prints per roll at 4x6 against 400, so it needs reloading half as often. The DS620 prints 5x7, which the RX1HS does not. Our DS620 vs DS-RX1HS comparison puts both spec sheets side by side.

From DNP, and the same DS620A printer driver covers both names. Tell us the machine and the operating system, Windows or a Mac printer driver, and we send you the current DNP printer driver download with the printer settings and the colour profile we use, so you are not hunting one on a forum the night before an event. Booth software adds its own print profile on top.

The price on this page is the printer on its own, plus VAT, and it is what a DS620A printer for sale costs new here, with three years of warranty. Media is quoted separately by the box, because most operators buy paper far more often than they buy machines, so ask for the DNP printer paper price at the same time. Not when it lives inside a booth column, which is where we fit it. If you run the printer on a table beside the booth, a DS620A printer stand keeps the media bay off the floor and a DS620A printer cover keeps confetti out of it. The DS40 is the previous generation of this machine and DNP replaced it with the DS620, so a DS40 printer driver and DS40 media do not carry over. The DS80 and the DS820A are the 8 inch wide models: a DNP DS820A 8" professional photo dye sublimation printer is built for lab and large format work rather than a booth column, and it runs its own DS80 or DS820 printer driver on its own media. Running a DS40 today, the DS620 is the direct upgrade.

It still prints, and DNP stopped building it years ago. You can still turn up a DS40 printer manual and the odd DS40 4x6 printer media kit, but troubleshooting a machine nobody stocks parts for costs more in lost Saturdays than it saves, and that is what every DS40 printer review comes down to now.
