DNP Printer Price and Where to Buy One

Each one is sold on its own, so an operator who already owns a booth can buy a DNP printer here without a machine around it, and every booth we build takes any of the three. A used DNP printer is worth considering only with a print counter you can read and a known ribbon history, because the thermal head is the wear part and it is most of the value. What a DNP Photo Printer Is, and Why Booths Use One
A DNP dye sublimation printer is a thermal printer: a ribbon with yellow, magenta, cyan and a clear overcoat passes under a heated head four times, and the dye transfers into the paper as a gas. The print leaves the slot dry, sealed and water resistant, and the cost per print is fixed by the media kit rather than by how much colour is on the page. That is why every DNP event printer here is dye sub and why nobody runs inkjet at a wedding: a 4x6 print in seconds, no drying, no smudged fingers on the strip.
DNP printer size matters as much as speed for a mobile operator. The QW410 is the small DNP printer of the range at under 6 kg and fits in the booth case; the DS620 and DS-RX1HS are desk sized and stay in a dedicated printer case. All three are DNP 4x6 printers at heart, with the DS620 adding 5x7 and 6x8 and the DS-RX1HS adding the 2x6 strip. There is no DNP wireless printer as such: every model connects over USB, and Wi-Fi comes from the booth device or from DNP's own wireless print server sitting in front of the printer, which is also how an iPad reaches it.
Drivers, Setup, Software and Support
DNP printer setup on a laptop is a driver install: the DNP printer drivers for Windows and macOS are a free download from the manufacturer, and the booth software prints to the DNP as a normal system printer. On an iPad or Android tablet there is no driver; the booth app talks to the printer directly, so DNP printer software is really the photo booth software you already run, and a DNP printer app on its own is not something you need to buy. Every booth we ship has the printer already installed and test printed on the device it will run with.

How do I connect a DNP printer to an iPad?
Through the booth app, not through the iPad settings: DNP printers have no AirPrint. The app sends the print job either over a USB adapter (Lightning or USB-C to USB) plugged straight into the printer, or over Wi-Fi through DNP’s own wireless print server, which sits between the iPad and the printer and lets several devices share one machine. Check that the app you run supports your model before the event, and carry the adapter in the case.
Why do photo booths use dye sublimation printers?
Dye sublimation delivers dry, smudge proof, lab quality prints in seconds, event after event. Inkjet cannot match the speed or durability, which is why DNP is the standard of the industry.
Do you sell DNP print media too?

How many prints do I get from one roll of DNP media?
